2024 Parents Under Pressure Report

This report was presented on behalf of the U.S. Surgeon General as an advisory to the mental health and well-being of parents. Based on data findings, there is expressed concern not only for the present mental well-being of parents but also for its direct impact on children. This advisory offers valuable insights to parents and providers alike.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation: Insights on State Kinship Diversion Policies

The Annie E. Casey Foundation offers its latest installment to provide information on kinship diversion policies through this analysis report of state-by-state surveys of kinship care policies. Findings are based on 33 state respondents who have policies allowing kinship diversion. The Annie E. Casey Foundation defines kinship diversion as placement of a child with relatives or close family friends as an alternative to a child welfare agency taking custody and placing the child in formal foster care.

Break the Cycle

Since 1996, Break the Cycle has been a trusted resource for dating abuse information and referrals, technical assistance and training to communities nationwide. A comprehensive site that is divided in to three sections.  The “teens” section provides teens with resources, advice, and approachable information.  The “kids” section is written in an easy format, and has in depth explanations about health related issues that children might not understand.  The “parents” section provides adults with advice on how to confront difficult situations with their children, and has multiple links that cover every aspect of raising healthy children.

Stayteen.org

An interactive site for teens that addresses teen dating, relationships, and sex. Teens can create their own videos to post on the site about how they stay a teen. The site also contains a comprehensive list of resources for teens about pregnancy and sexual health.

The Dibble Institute

The Dibble Institute provides resources for equipping young people for healthy romantic relationships now and in the future. Skill building for developing healthy adolescent romantic relationships.

Resources: Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention

The Center for Community Solutions provides resources, including hotlines, dating abuse resources, national resources and public awareness campaigns, for teen dating and violence prevention.

EPIC is a national not-for-profit organization that provides effective programs and resources for parents, teachers, and school administrators that help adults raise responsible and academically successful children.
