Since 1999, the DC Trust, formerly known as the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, has been proud to work in partnership government, nonprofit, and advocacy groups to create big solutions to the most pressing needs of the city’s youth.
First Book is a nonprofit social enterprise that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to children in need. Since our founding in 1992, First Book has distributed more than 160 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families.
The Pinnacle Health Children’s Resource Center, located in Harrisburg, PA, provides efficient, quality care in a safe, child-friendly environment for children suspected of having been abused or neglected. By bringing together agencies including child protection services, social services, and victim advocacy, the CRC can ensure a child-focused approach to child abuse cases.
Also known as the Child Mind Institute, Speak Up for Kids leads a public education campaign about Mental Health issues and erasing the stigma that prevents parents from getting help for their kids.
Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing a court appointed special advocate (CASA). Voices for Children increases awareness about the foster care system and advocates for legal policies and practices that enhance the quality of life for foster children.
The Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center strengthens existing Children’s Advocacy Centers, and helps communities develop such centers, through training and technical assistance in 13 western states. Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center exists through funding by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
Collaborative for Children works to improve the quality of early care and education through programs for families, educators, and communities. Programs available are Strengthening Families, Improving Learning Environment and Empowering Educators, Inspiring Community Action and Awareness, and Transforming Neighbors.
Child Welfare League of America is a coalition of private and public agencies that offer publications, membership services, conferences, consultations and special initiatives to help ensure the safety and well-being of youth and their families who have experienced abuse, neglect or family disruption.
Children’s Defense Fund is a non-profit child advocacy group that champions policies and programs that lift children from poverty, protect them from abuse and neglect, ensure them access to quality education, and a moral and spiritual foundation. The site includes advocacy resources and child research data.
The CareForKids organization advocates for the kids of Kern County through the administration of funds received by the Children’s Advocates Resource Endowment (C.A.R.E.) to benefit local children’s organizations. CareForKids.org volunteers raise money and awareness through special events and provide an endowment fund for the future needs of the children, with 100% of the proceeds to stay in Kern County.
Children Now is a national organization for people who care about children and want to ensure that they are the top public policy priority. Children Now addresses issues around health, media, education, and research.
The Child Advocates, Inc. mobilizes court appointed volunteers to break the vicious cycle of child abuse. They speak up for abused children who are lost in the system and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive.
