The Harry Potter Alliance is an international nonprofit that turns fans into heroes. By drawing parallels between pop culture and real world social change, we make activism and leadership more accessible and sustainable for all. With a 15 year history of proven success, our training programs help emergent leaders of all ages build key transferable skills in leadership and community organizing, and lean on familiar content we can all connect with to make high level social justice education accessible. As an organization born of internet community, we’re incredibly comfortable with online facilitation and are ready to join your Floo…er, that is, Zoom.

Janae Phillips is the Harry Potter Alliance’s Director of Leadership and Education (before you ask: Hufflepuff). Janae has worked with youth programs and grassroots organizing for over a decade, and brings her background in educational technology to this unprecedented time. Janae holds a B.S. in Family Studies and Human Development and a M.S. in Educational Technology from the University of Arizona. She’s a writer, amateur potter (ceramics, not Harry), and would just like to know that SUE the T-rex is proud of her.
