Dwayne, originally from Florida, is the eldest of five children raised in a single-parent household, an experience that has greatly contributed to his resilience and sense of responsibility. His life experiences have fueled his passion for coaching and mentoring.

As a recognized thought leader, motivational coach, speaker, and workshop facilitator, Dwayne holds a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, both from Full Sail University. He also served as the President Emeritus of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at the same institution. Currently, Dwayne is pursuing a PhD in Advanced Human Behavior.

A devoted advocate for afterschool programming for 20 years, Dwayne received the Afterschool Champion Outstanding Program Quality Award in 2023. He has served as an afterschool ambassador in Pennsylvania, where he successfully advocated for an $11.5 million grant to support afterschool initiatives. Additionally, he is the founding director of IGNITE Before & Afterschool Enrichment at Belmont Charter High School.

Dwayne has worked with thousands of students, families, teachers, community partners, and local and state legislators to establish effective afterschool programs throughout the United States. He is also passionate about coaching afterschool workers, site coordinators, and site directors on how to create and maintain quality programming.

In 2020, he founded “A Human. Being!”—a company dedicated to mental health and wellbeing coaching, self-improvement, and personal and professional development.
