Who or what inspires you?
My family, my faith, and my culture inspire me. My homegirl Frida Kahlo inspires me to be the best woman I can be for all women and little girls… to fight and advocate for and live passionately. This picture is one of my favorites.

What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?
Authenticity.
What advice would you give someone going into a leadership position for the first time?
Understand each day is a new day and a learning experience. You will never stop learning. Take notes. Ask questions. Empower your team and recognize their efforts. Stay humble. “Every expert was once a beginner.”
What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as a leader?
I seek professional development. It is important to stay updated and educated on current trends as things change, especially in youth development. As the leader of my programs and teams, it is my responsibility to stay updated to develop my teams and to continue to provide quality programming for the youth and families in my community.

Why are you a part of the BOOST Leadership Team?
I am part of the BLT because I wanted to be a part of an organization/community that is as passionate about Youth Development and making a difference as I am. I have attended the BOOST Conference for about 9 years, and every year I leave feeling inspired and empowered and excited to teach my team what I learned. This is what made me want to be a part of the BLT, to develop professionally and gain a new experience in a new leadership opportunity.
For breakfast, I had scrambled eggs with veggies, wheat toast, and coffee.
