Compensation: Salaried ($50,000 – $65,000)

Organization Overview Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that serves 400+ New Bedford youth a year. Our mission is to tap into the wonder and curiosity of youth to seek adventure and learn naturally. We do this by offering bicycling trips, outdoor adventures, and indoor workshops year round. Our vision is for all youth to develop a strong sense of self, gain essential life skills and discover their passions that bring them joy and positively impact their community.

Office Location: This position is based in New Bedford. MA. This is a hybrid role that is mostly in person but requires coming into the office at a minimum of three days a week with additional in-person meetings as needed. This hybrid work model is subject to change based on the organization’s needs. This position may also require occasional weekend and evening hours, as well as local travel.

Roles and Responsibilities: The Development Manager will be a key partner in advancing Y.O.U.’s mission and vision during a time of strategic growth. The Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to increase resources and awareness.

We are looking for a detail-oriented development professional who is an exceptional communicator and has the experience and desire to lead Y.O.U.’s internal development operations. A passionate commitment to Y.O.U’s. mission, vision and the youth that we serve in the Greater New Bedford area is essential. The Development Manager will have significant responsibilities and opportunities to work with the staff and board to create and enhance the organization’s impact.

The following is an overview of the Development Manager’s top priorities:

● Development Operations: Act as the lead person on the team for all internal development activities. Maintain accurate records of in the Little Green Light database, oversee the gift entry and acknowledgment process so that gratitude and impact are expressed in a timely and meaningful manner. Ensure the overall accuracy and usefulness of data collected in order to inform decision making and action.

● Executive Support: Support the Executive Director in her relationship building in the community by helping to coordinate meetings and facilitating next steps. Work closely with the Executive Director and Board Treasurer to develop annual fundraising goals and budgets, tracking progress and performance against targets. Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, financial metrics, and donor engagement for board meetings.

● Stewardship: Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director to build meaningful and ongoing relationships with Y.O.U.’s supporters. Build Y.O.U.’s annual giving program and other campaigns throughout the year. Conduct research in order to identify potential partnership opportunities with individuals, foundations and corporations.

● Event Planning: Plan and execute special events that inspire, educate and cultivate supporters and bring individuals closer to Y.O.U.’s mission. Serve as the team lead for Y.O.U. ‘s signature event, Autumn Oasis, ensures the successful execution of event logistics, working closely with event planning committee and event consultants as needed. Produce sponsorship materials and templates; track sponsorship asks, pledges, and payments; and ensure sponsors are acknowledged as promised.

● Cross Organization Collaboration: Collaborate with the Program Team to maintain up-to-date knowledge/understanding of program activities, impact, outcomes, and needs. Support the program team as needed in order to best serve the youth and the community. Job Requirements ● A deep passion for working directly with and empowering youth in New Bedford ● Willingness to be on site with the program staff in Greater New Bedford as needed.

● Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices, particularly in the nonprofit sector. ● One to three years of experience working in a development capacity for a nonprofit organization

● Extremely detail-oriented with strong project management skills

● Excitement for joining a fast-paced team environment

● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

● Outstanding organization and leadership skills

● Demonstrated ability to take initiative, stay organized, delegate work, and support team members in meeting responsibilities

● Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

● [Preferred] Experience with Little Green Light or similar database.

● [Preferred] Bachelor’s Degree in NonProfit Management
