The Assistant Director of Admission & Partnership Coordinator for Interlochen Arts Camp (IAC) works closely with the Manager of Strategic Recruitment & Partnerships to oversee relationships with key partners to expand Interlochen’s reach and recruit students from different backgrounds. Partner programs at Interlochen include community based organizations, non-profits, and schools. This person will guide the recruitment, enrollment and onboarding of students from our partnership organizations, maintain accurate records, and provide reporting to track progress toward strategic goals. This role also plays an integral part on the Camp Admission team, managing applications for several summer programs and ensuring efficient and effective operations. On the front lines with families, the AD is responsible for cultivating relationships throughout the cycle and providing clear and accurate communication that results in students finding the right program fit.

This position is a career opportunity to use a broad-based knowledge of specialized program enrollment management and financial aid, while acting as an arts advocate at one of the nation’s premier arts education centers. The Enrollment Office works with more than 3,000 qualified elementary through high school-age students from more than 50 countries each year across numerous artistic disciplines and study sessions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan to reach diverse communities through partnerships.
  • Manage the matriculation of partnership students to camp.
  • Maintain accurate records of partnership students application journey, financial aid, and matriculation process for reporting.
  • Conduct research for best practices for diversity and yield initiatives.
  • Endeavor to match students to all philanthropic scholarships.
  • Nurture and review Interlochen Arts Camp applications.
  • Execute efficient operations regarding camp enrollment.
  • Suggest adjustments for efficiency in workflows.
  • Implement overall strategic vision for enrollment.
  • Advises partner organizations, families, and students for success.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as well as participate in recruitment travel.
  • Comply with ICA policies/procedures and act as a good steward of ICA finances.
  • Respect the culture, diversity and rights of all students, their families and the community.
  • Prioritize duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in an education or non-profit setting
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Experience working independently and meeting long term goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in student recruitment and enrollment including technology and reporting
  • Experience in organizational partnership management
  • Experience working with diverse organizations in non-profit and/or the arts
  • Connection to the arts

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills including outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong capability to work collaboratively and collegially with a wide variety of constituents
