Youth Service America is focused on increasing youth participation rates in volunteering and service, voting and civic engagement, and joining and leadership to 50% by America 250 on July 4, 2026. Even though youth participation rates are at or near record-high levels, 3 out of every 4 young people are left out, and participation rates are even fewer for young people of color, youth from underserved low-income families & communities, and other youth not usually asked to serve.

Supported by The Allstate Foundation, twenty 50by250 Lead Organizers will be awarded $5,000 grants and work to recruit at least 50 partners in their school district, city, or state and support their participation in the 50by250 initiative.
