Description

Mini-Grants provided by Learning to Give are designed to inspire classroom discussion and action toward students using their time, talent, and treasure for the common good.

Mini-grants with a value of $250 or $500 will be awarded on a competitive basis to applicants that meet the grant expectations below.

TEACHERS INTERESTED IN APPLYING MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

*Teach at a public, charter, parochial, or independent school in the United States
*You must have a free account with www.learningtogive.org to apply for a mini-grant
*If you were awarded a mini-grant during the previous school year, this application must include a new idea or the recruitment of other teachers to the service project
*Teach a Learning to Give lesson to build knowledge of philanthropy and spur student action
*Involve students in planning and carrying out a service project that addresses an identified need
*Provide a budget in advance for costs directly related to student action (supplies, transportation, admission costs, etc.)
*Submit a final report with a description and reflection of the completed student project as well as a record of all money spent

DEADLINE TO APPLY

Applications will be reviewed on the 22nd of each month and awarded throughout the 2018-19 school year, beginning September 22 through March 22, 2019. You will be notified by email if you have been awarded the mini-grant.

Applications will only be considered if they are complete and meet the requirements above.

Please note: Grant fund checks cannot be made out to individual teachers. They will be processed using the school name. The check to your school will come from the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF) with your name in the memo box.
