The Kernel approach to teaching SEL was first introduced by Dr. Stephanie Jones of Harvard. Research has shown that there is an increasing movement to include flexible, adaptable approaches that empower implementers to select which SEL skills and teaching strategies best fit the needs of their students. In this presentation, you will explore the Kernel approach as both a supplement to existing SEL curriculum and an alternative to embedding SEL practices throughout the school and afterschool day.
