We have seen tremendous strides toward LGBTQ equality in the U.S. and yet current data reveal serious challenges faced by LGBTQ youth. According to a 2017 national survey, only 5% of LGBTQ students say all of their teachers are supportive of LGBTQ people, and only 5% always feel safe in their classrooms.
