Using the momentum and the spirit of what San Francisco as a city was able to do for children, youth, and their families, the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families in partnership with other City Departments, non-profits, private camps, and the San Francisco Unified School District we were able to provide access to over 200 programs and over 25,000 slots to our priority population during the tail end of the pandemic.
DCYF’s Summer Together Initiative (STI) offered in-person summer experiences for our hardest-to-reach youth that provided opportunities for youth to engage, rebuild, and reestablish positive attitudes towards learning, relationship building, and social/emotional wellness. Learn about what makes STIs successful, what resources are needed to implement an STI in your city, and how to advocate for a children and youth fund in your city.
