Using a community’s local art and cultural assets, young people can influence civic spaces, healthy eating, transportation, and green spaces (to name just a few!) that ultimately leads to a more just and equitable community. This interactive workshop will share examples and components of successful creative placemaking initiatives, provide an opportunity to practice asset-based creative placemaking, and guide participants through the process of engaging youth in shaping the design of their cities. Participants will leave with a toolkit they can use to implement creative placemaking in their own programs and communities.
