This workshop will engage the audience in culturally responsive and intellectually stimulating informal mathematics activities. After revisiting the core tenets of culturally responsive pedagogy, we will embark on an engaging journey of collaborative mathematical exploration. Together, we’ll delve into the intricacies of task design and brainstorm innovative approaches to infuse elements of culturally responsive teaching into our informal pedagogical practices. The workshop is presented by Math CEO, a university-affiliated, tuition-free after-school math enrichment program dedicated to serving Latinx youth in Southern California.
