There are 5,000 school board members across the state. Imagine the power of those same voices advocating on behalf of your programs locally, in Sacramento, or in Washington D.C. Mike Walsh is a Butte County School Board Trustee and the President of the California School Boards Association and former technical-assistance provider. Mike will welcome attendees with his compelling remarks on the ability to increase board member advocacy and knowledge of out of school time programs; understanding how to connect with CSBA’s grassroots advocacy movement on behalf of public education; and increase your ability to have a conversation about the importance of equity in a way that people will actually listen to the message instead of fighting you about it.
