Program Coordinator- BOOST Cafe Content & Blog Coordinator

NUMBER OF HOURS: 40 hours/week

REPORTS TO: CEO

LOCATION: Hybrid (Virtual and In-person)

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-Exempt

$25/hour to start (15 paid holidays, 8 hours PTO/month to start, 401K, no medical benefits)

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the CEO the Program Coordinator will play a key role in high-quality content creation and resource development for the BOOST Cafe Online Training & Learning Community and oversight of the BOOST Breakfast Club Blog/Bloggers. This position requires flexibility, problem-solving, extraordinary attention to detail, outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, radical levels of customer service, relationship building and high-quality work.

ENOKI EVENTS/BOOST COLLABORATIVE SUMMARY

Enoki Events, LLC was formed on the premise to build community and cultivate experiences for change and currently works to promote Social Justice, Social Leadership, and Social Learning. 

Enoki Events, LLC/BOOST Collaborative is a purpose-driven company to build community and cultivate experiences for change.  Our initial project, the BOOST Conference was established to provide a leading-edge experience in professional development and serve a niche market of out-of-school time educators while creating a movement to inspire youth, inspire learning, inspire change.

The BOOST Cafe was developed to provide additional support services including online training and learning community, program and resource development, building community partnerships, promoting the importance of quality out-of-school time programming, opportunities to share promising practices, in addition to a variety of training and consulting services.

Additionally, Enoki Events, LLC collaborates with other purpose-driven organizations to enhance outcome-based services to meet the needs of growing issues affecting children, youth, families and communities. The Healthy Behaviors Conference, Legacy Summit, and TRUST Conference are illustrations of such collaboration.

Essential Functions

The BOOST Cafe Coordinator job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

BOOST Cafe Administration

  • Coordinate and maintain relevant and timely content for the BOOST Cafe Online Training & Learning Community website (on-going)
  • Facilitate one-hour BOOST Cafe Orientation trainings via Zoom or in-person to global educational programs (on-going)
  • Provide on-site technical assistance support at all company events (on-going)
  • Approve and activate user profiles (daily)
  • Grow active users and engagement (on-going)
  • Make edits to WordPress Cafe website and increase traffic (on-going)
  • Maintain on-going communication with BOOST Cafe Web Developer to monitor web performance, troubleshoot, and maintain website issues (bi-weekly/as needed)
  • Act as main point of contact for any BOOST Cafe content and inquiries (on-going)
  • Oversee all email accounts associated with BOOST Cafe (daily)

 

Resource Center

  • Build capacity of online resource center to enhance user experience and provide timely content for the filed (weekly)
  • Obtain useful and relevant educational resources to supplement client trainings. (on-going)
  • Seek local, statewide, national, and global resources benefitting students and/or educators. (on-going)
  • Maintain database of featured Resource Center organizations (on-going)
  • Initiate written communication with Resource Center organizations (on-going)

 

BOOSTOPEDIA  

  • Build capacity of the online BOOSTOPEDIA Resources to enhance client services. (on-going)

 

Career Corner

  • Compile and build capacity of our online Career Corner by promoting jobs in the national educational/OST field. (on-going)
  • Maintain database of featured job posting organizations (on-going)
  • Initiate written communication with individual job posting organizations. (on-going)

 

Funding, Scholarship, & Contest/Award Opportunities

  • Build capacity of our online Funding Opportunities by seeking grants relevant to schools and out-of-school time programs. (on-going)
  • Track annual, rolling, and one-time funding opportunities in our funding database. (on-going)
  • Maintain database of all Funding organizations (on-going)

 

Online Learning Community

  • Support growth of Learning Community forums (on-going)
  • Create a team of moderators to engage our community in online discussions around promising practices and collaborative knowledge (on-going)

 

Forum Moderators & Group Moderators Coordination

  • Recruit, train, retain, and oversee all Forum & Group Moderators Communities (on-going)
  • Compile monthly newsletter content for Forum & Group Leaders (on-going)

 

Online Training & Learning Community

  • Act as the point of contact for all sponsored and collaborative trainings (on-going)

 

Blog Coordination

  • Recruit and retain a community of volunteer bloggers (on-going)
    • Onboarding Bloggers
      • Facilitate Blog Orientation to onboard new bloggers- mandatory for new bloggers (monthly)
      • Maintain a schedule of blog submission deadlines, provide reminders (weekly)
    • On-going Posting
      • Post a minimum of 2-3 blog submissions per week (weekly)
    • On-going Communication
      • Use and maintain exceptional organization, updates, and details on the Blog Tracking and Contact Information Spreadsheet (weekly)
    • Innovation & Collaboration
      • Research and develop partnerships with other prominent, relevant blogs to collaborate in cross-promotions of blog entries (quarterly)
    • Professional Development
      • Provide Zoom, #BOOSTchat, or other types of online trainings for current bloggers to increase blogging knowledge, train on innovative promising practices, and newest blog trends by recruiting and booking trainers if necessary (quarterly)
    • BOOST Conference On-Site
      • Support on-site BOOST Conference duties as needed (annually)
      • Coordinate and implement an on-site event to celebrate and thank bloggers (annually)

 

Communications & Social Media

  • Collaborate with Communications Coordinator to ensure implementation of social media related to BOOST Cafe.
  • Data entry for all departments, projects in database, and email list serves

 

Leadership

  • Develop relationship with key stakeholders in the out-of-school time field to enhance business opportunities and growth of company.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and stakeholders.
  • Be an eager and active participant in company culture and role model amongst team members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 2+ years in similar work capacity.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and thrives on managing multiple tasks.
  • High proficiency in technology including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Google Workspace platform; ability to learn new software/platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal, phone communication skills.
  • Experience in high-level client relations and customer service.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse communities and volunteers.
  • Self-starter with a positive “can do” attitude, extraordinary communication and customer service skills; project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall success of the team while continuing to grow and gain expertise from senior staff.
  • Experience and passion for inspiring and creating change and social justice in educational and social service agencies serving youth.
  • Commit to personal and professional growth and development.
  • Ability to interact with and build relationships with fellow team members, a diverse global clientele, and the public.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

 

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to attend and work at the annual BOOST Conference and other company events.
  • Ability to attend and participate in “live/in-person” company events is required and may include working nights, weekends, and travel during certain times of the year.
  • Valid California Driver’s License, access to the use of a reliable automobile on a daily basis, and valid automobile insurance.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, non-citizen national, or foreign national possessing a visa permitting permanent residence in the U.S. (Alien Registration or “Green Card”). Student visas and temporary work visas do not qualify.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent repetitive hand use and simple grasping, e.g., desk and computer functions
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs

 

COVID-19 Safety and In-person Work

  • Strictly comply with all applicable public health orders and organizational safety protocols. Work as part of a team among colleagues to assist with unforeseen COVID-19-related projects.
  • Conduct work in person as health orders allow (PPE provided) per California State Health Order and County of San Diego Health Orders, all work is expected to be in-person.
  • Willing to obtain COVID-19 vaccine unless qualified medical condition, unvaccinated staff are required to take a bi-weekly COVID-19 test.
  • Remain flexible in order to adjust to changing safety protocols and health orders as needed.
