Join the largest network serving philanthropy in Indiana. Indiana Philanthropy Alliance (IPA) is a nonprofit membership association working with local and national leaders to increase philanthropy’s impact and to make a positive difference in the lives of people and their communities.

IPA’s engagement manager will support the team by identifying member prospects and key community partners, coordinating membership and sponsorship recruitment, and executing activities that support and foster positive relationships with members.

Principal Responsibilities
MEMBERSHIP: Coordinates efforts to recruit, retain, and steward IPA members. Creates, maintains, and tracks the progress of the annual membership recruitment/stewardship plan, including utilizing Salesforce tracking and marshaling staff progress related to the plan. Works with other IPA staff to coordinate outreach to prospects to encourage membership, steward current members, and execute projects that provide member value.
FUNDRAISING: Participates in sponsorship, grant-seeking, and other fundraising efforts, including prospecting, planning, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding. Coordinates annual Philanthropy Leads Dinner.
COMMUNICATIONS: Creates and updates website content, social media posts, printed materials, and other resources that inform members, prospects, partners, and program participants.
PUBLIC POLICY: Participates in public policy activities, including position development, communications with policymakers and staff, education of IPA stakeholders about policy matters, and other work intended to advocate for and engage IPA members in public policy issues of importance to the philanthropy sector and the communities it serves.
MISCELLANEOUS: Assists IPA management team as necessary with events, i.e., legislative lunches, educational programs, Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute, etc.
ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT: Works with the IPA management team to develop and monitor IPA’s annual budget and financial reports, specifically managing the budget related to activities under this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree or certification in a related field preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills required. Experience with social media, updating websites, and designing documents is strongly preferred.
At least two years of proven experience in relationship development, coalition building, fundraising, sales, and/or membership recruitment is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Comfort with business software, including databases, online communication tools, and data analysis tools. Specific familiarity with Salesforce and/or Asana a plus.
Thorough understanding of program management techniques and methods.
Physical Requirements of the Position
The majority of the job is located inside an office setting.
Evening and weekend work is required when project delivery dictates.
Regular use of keyboard.
Consistent sitting for many hours at one time.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, bend, and stoop.
Ability to drive statewide is an essential function of the position.
